Andres Amador (b.1971, USA)

Artist Andres Amador is a San Francisco native, world spirit. He doesn’t paint or sculpt. He prefers a medium that is temporary but absolutely beautiful: a sandy beach at low tide. He uses a rake to create works of art that can be bigger than 100,000 sq. ft.
He spends hours creating these intricate masterpieces, knowing that the tide will soon come in and wash away his work forever. (src. Feel Design)

Mallory Morrison (USA) - Water | Conceptual

Los Angeles based photographer, Mallory Morrison, has been honing her skills in underwater photography for the past few years and continues to experiment with new processes and concepts. Originally a dance photographer, Mallory blended her photography skills with her twenty-four years of dance experience, bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions. Mallory’s evolution into underwater photography allowed her to introduce another element to this union and extend the range of her talent even further. Her use of dancers in an underwater environment allows Mallory to challenge the boundaries of people photography - utilizing weightlessness to tell stories, which explore the depths of movement and composition.

M.I.A. is actually the coolest.

M.I.A. is a philanthropist and humanitarian outside of her musical career. In 2009, People wanted to place her on their annual list of the world’s most beautiful people but she was the first person in the magazine’s history to decline, stating “Mother Teresa was never on the list.” In 2001, she received anAlternative Turner Prize nomination for her visual art. She is the only artist in history to be nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Brit Award, Mercury Prize and Alternative Turner Prize, and the first artist of Asian descent to be nominated for an Academy and Grammy Award in the same year. In both 2005 and 2008, M.I.A. was artist of the year by Spin and URB and M.I.A. is named as one of the defining artists of the 2000s decade by Rolling Stone in its “Best of the Decade” list in December 2009.Esquire magazine ranked M.I.A. on its list of the 75 most influential people of the 21st century in January 2010 and also in January 2010 Time magazine named her one of the world’s 100 most influential people.
